UCMAS is a holistic brain development program for children aged 5-13 years old. The UCMAS Program builds the foundational techniques that make learning math easy, effortless and enjoyable. By using a tool called the Abacus, students develop the ability to think visually and learn to quickly calculate large sums in their head. Over time, our students come to love a subject they may have once struggled with, or even feared. This increase in calculation speed and brain activity will open your child’s mind, allowing them to be more creative and think outside of the box.
The program consists of 7 levels, which build on one another and challenge the child based on their individual skill level. Recognized as one of the best abacus math programs for kids, UCMAS demands self-discipline and promotes the joy of lifelong learning and self-discovery. Our students become motivated learners – the best route to success in academics and beyond.

Proficiency in Mental Math
The foundation of the program is based on using an Abacus to teach math concepts. An abacus is a system of beads with numeric value. Children are taught to use specific finger movements to move beads which add and subtract numbers. An Abacus can be used to teach all mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, BEDMAS, decimals, percentage, square and square root. Students are guided to visualize the Abacus with repetition and reinforcement, making it a mental calculator.
Typically, the ages of 5-13 are a perfect start.
This program is designed to help children solve complex math problems without the use of a calculator.
Of course! We teach different ways to solve a problem, in which case it increases your childs ability to complete math problems efficiently and effectively.
